Unit 3 Study Sessions



The Unit 3 Test will be this Friday (01/30) and Monday (02/02). You will get your DBQ's friday at the end of class and on Monday you will turn in your DBQ and take the multiple choice portion of the test.

Here are the study sessions available this week. I'd like at least 20 people to show up for each session.

Tuesday (7:30am - 8:15am)

Wednesday (7:30am - 8:15am)

Thursday (7:30am - 8:15am)

Thursday (3:45pm - 4:30pm)

Also, we will review in class on Friday.

Cracking the AP World History Exam



Here is information concerning the extra credit opportunity related to your Princeton Review AP Exam Study Guide.  Note, all the information here deals with the 2008 edition.   If you have purchased a different edition, please bring me your study guide before or after school so that I can go over any differences in the assignment with you.  The assignment will be worth a total possible of 25 points on your final exam... that's a lot!

Part 1 (5 points)
Due: January 23rd
* Read Part 1: How to Crack the System (p. 1 - 84).
* Outline subsections 2, 3, 4 & 5.   All outlines should be SINGLE-SPACED, typed and 1 - 2 pages in length.
* Complete ALL activities & examples
* Read Part 2, Subsection 6: Ancient Stuff (p. 85 - 128)
* Create identification flash-cards for ALL bold terms

Part 2 (5 points)
Due: February 13th
* Read Part 2, Subsection 7: Really Old Stuff (p. 129 - 168)
* Read Part 2, Subsection 8: Old Stuff (p. 169 - 204)
* Create identification flash-cards for ALL bold terms
* Complete ALL activities & examples

Part 3 (5 points)
Due: March 6th
* Read Part 2, Subsection 9: Not So Old Stuff (p. 205 - 236)
* Read Part 2, Subsection 10: Recent Stuff (p. 237 - 276)
* Create identification flash-cards for ALL bold terms
* Complete ALL activities & examples

Part 4 (5 points)
Due: March 27th
* Stay after-school on March 17th to take a practice full practice AP Exam.
* Swap essays with someone and grade each other's test (using an answer key that will be handed out immediately following the test).
* Write all incorrect multiple choice questions on note-cards.  On the back of the note-cards write the correct answer along along with a 3 - 5 sentence description of background information pertaining to the question.

Part 5 (5 points)
Due: April 24th
* Stay after-school on April 14th to take a practice full practice AP Exam.
* Swap essays with someone and grade each other's test (using an answer key that will be handed out immediately following the test).
* Write all incorrect multiple choice questions on note-cards.  On the back of the note-cards write the correct answer along along with a 3 - 5 sentence description of background information pertaining to the question.
